Guidelines
In an effort to maintain a site filled with quality Writings, we would like to set forth a few guidelines for the submission of
stories.
- Proper form - When submitting a Writings story, keep in mind that your story will be read by
thousands of people around the world. Therefore, it is important that you present your work in good
form. This includes using proper English grammar, spelling and punctuation. Due to the large volume
of Writings that we expect to receive, we will not have the time to edit your contributions and will
simply not be able to use them if they come to us in bad form. We reserve the right to refuse any
story that we deem unfit under these guidelines. We will simply return the story to you with a note
attached as to what corrections you need to make in order for it to be considered suitable. It is
regrettable that we must delineate these items in such specifics. But having been in the Writings
forum for almost a year now, I have received dozens of stories that were simply unreadable before I
spent hours on editing them. We can no longer afford the time to make these edits. We hope that this
doesn't discourage you from sending in your stories. We do not expect them to be perfect, just in
good enough form for them to be easily read and enjoyed.
- Content - Since this is a Titanic site, we ask that you limit your Writings submissions to
those related to the film Titanic or any of the characters featured therein. We will accept stories
related to the actual ship Titanic also. The content of your story should also make sense. This may
seem like a strange thing to say, but I have received many stories that simply had no logical thought
process at all. For example, I received a story in which Rose died in the first chapter. Then
miraculously she was alive again in chapter two without any explanation whatsoever. Hence, we reserve
the right to refuse any story that has an absurd or unclear plot.
- Rating your story - We ask that you give your story a rating using the general movie ratings
that we are all familiar with -- G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17. You can do this basically the same way a
film is rated. If you have questions concerning this, we will gladly help you determine the proper
rating for your story. Generally speaking, if your story has any sexual content, it should be rated
PG-13 or above. We will accept stories with sexual content, as long as it is tastefully written and
well suited to the plot of the story. We do not wish for this to develop into a pornographic site.
Again, we reserve the right to refuse any story that does not comply.
- Type of story - The categories for Writings will be: Short stories (usually one chapter or
part), Continuing stories (numerous chapters submitted over a period of time), Spoofs (humorous
contributions), Poetry, and Stories on other sites.
- Sending your submission - Please include the following information at the top of your email:
Title:
Author's name:
Author's email address:
Story rating: (G, PG, etc.)
Type of story: (Short story, Continuing story, etc.)
Please send your stories to

Thank you!
