His wife Eva, aged 74, died only a fortnight before and Mr. Fleet had been very depressed since. He was buried in an unmarked paupers grave at Hollybrook Cemetry, Southampton, England, UK. In 1993, a headstone was erected through donations by The Titanic Historical Society.
