Rose's Angel: Chapter 16

Rated PG-13
© 1999 Holly @ Roseslay@aol.com
based on some characters
and situations originated by James Cameron

Rose emerged from the bathroom feeling slightly better. She peered into the mirror to see if her appearance had improved. 'Well I am not as peaked as I was when I first awoke,' she thought. Her stomach was churning and for a minute she thought she would be sick. 'I had better fix myself toast with jam and some tea,' she thought.

She fixed her breakfast and sat down in her breakfast nook to look out the window. In her daily morning routine, she always thanked God for the new day she was about to begin. Then she thanked Jack Dawson for making her new life possible. Just as she was about to take her first bite of breakfast there was a knock at the door.

Starting to enjoy this new phase of his life or death, Jack was lounging on a deck chair in first class. From where he was sitting, he could see Rose perfectly. He wasn't hovering right next to her like he did when they had their evening chats, but close enough for him to be with her.

"This is the life," he said to Tommy sitting next to him.

"Well, at least in heaven there are no classes - we're all equal," he replied.

"Yeah, equally dead," Jack said.

Both men burst out laughing.

Jack stopped laughing abruptly. Rose was in danger!

"Be right back," he said to Tommy as he instantly transported himself to her side.

As Rose went to the door she felt Jack's warning of imminent danger.

"What is it, Jack?" she whispered as she opening the door.

You could have knocked Rose over with a feather. On her doorstep stood Nathan Hockley, Pittsburgh Steel tycoon.

Her jaw dropped and instinctively she whispered "Jack."
